Charlotte’s first Christmas

As you can imagine, this was our best Christmas of all for one very special reason- miss Charlotte, of course! It really is so special to share the magic of the holiday with a baby. We are so grateful for a happy, healthy child!

We had lots of places to be and lots of people to meet this year…and our Christmas celebrations aren’t even over yet! Eric has a big family, so our festivities usually last for a few weeks. Charlotte is a lucky girl to have so many people who love her! We spent last weekend in Missouri with the Rinehart side. She met over 100 people in the 3 days we spent there! And boy was she was a trooper. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with both sides of my family. And we will see more of Eric’s side in January!

This is a very picture-heavy post, so prepare yourself.

She even helped me wrap presents this year 🙂

Charlotte got to meet two very important ladies too; One is her Aunt Sally! She just returned to KS and is here to stay after being away for way too long for her Army duties. But boy, do we appreciate her service! Jaime and Sally are two of my best friends whom I’ve known since I was 4 years old. I feel SO lucky to still call them dear friends and to have them around to watch Charley grow up.

Charlottes first ChristmasShe also got to meet her Aunt Michaela and Uncle Dave! They live in San Fransisco and are visiting for the holiday. Michaela and I have been friends…since birth, so I was excited to introduce them to one another! It’s so hard to believe we’re at this stage of life. After 27 years, we’re really more like family, so it felt so special to have her meet our little one!

We spent Christmas Eve at our house this year…which was perfect. We went to Christmas Eve candlelight mass at our church. And as usual, it was amazing. I love our church so much! Charlottes first ChristmasCharlottes first ChristmasCharlottes first Christmas

Mistletoes…Charlotte made this adorable art project at daycare! That’s another huge blessing we have to be thankful for this year- an AMAZING daycare. I thank God every day that I drop her off for helping me find such a great group of people to take care of our little girl. They love her and she loves being there! That makes going to work so much easier.Charlottes first Christmas

I was pretty shocked. I’ve always said that when I have a kitchen big enough to put it on the counter, I wanted one. I was definitely not expecting it this year though!! I’ve already used it several times, and I’m pretty much obsessed. Thanks, Eric!!! Charlottes first Christmas Eric took “no shave November” one month too long. He and a friend from work didn’t shave their beards until December 23! We had some fun in the trimming process. Who doesn’t love a mustache with twirlies at the end? Charlottes first Christmas

Hope you all had a very merry Christmas!

3 Months, and Christmas Decorating!

Did I say every post wasn’t going to be about Charlotte? That’ll start another day. I can’t get enough of her!!

I can’t believe our baby girl is 3 months old!! Boy, have we learned a lot in that time. I never understood what people meant when they said “they grow up so fast!”. It couldn’t be more true. So, we will just continue to remind ourselves to enjoy every.single.moment.3 Months, and Christmas Decorating! 3 Months, and Christmas Decorating! “look mom! She was particularly smiley the other night while I was making dinner, so we decided to have an impromptu photo session. I can’t miss these sweet moments! Thank goodness for cameras that capture the memories 🙂3 Months, and Christmas Decorating! 3 Months, and Christmas Decorating! 3 Months, and Christmas Decorating!

Wow, you would’ve thought I fell off the face of the earth! It’s amazing how little free time you have with a baby around. But I tell ya what, it’s so worth it. Charlotte is becoming so much more interactive and her adorable personality is starting to come out. She’s so smiley and playful. She’s rolling over, grabbing things, and putting everything in her mouth. It seriously is the most amazing thing to watch a baby grow up and learn something new everyday! This is definitely the best job in the world. She still doesn’t like to sleep…like at all. So, we’re pretty sleep deprived, but our bodies are getting used to it and we’ve got a pretty nice routine going for taking “shifts”. Parenthood is all about teamwork, right?!

I spent the weekend at my parents house a couple weekends ago while Eric spent the weekend hunting in Western KS. Charlotte got a bath in the sink! She pretty much loves baths, so she didn’t mind!Lately... Lately...

Grandma has been visiting us one or two days a week since Charlotte was born (and some more when I was in the hospital). She loves watching Charlotte grow each week and we LOVE having her here. What a HUGE blessing!! They have a special connection, as you can see…Lately...

I can’t get enough of all of Charlotte’s adorable faces and her teensy toes, fingers…every little part of her is perfection!Lately... Lately...

She even attended her first wedding reception! She was kind of amazing, I have to say. She slept some, and put on a smile for all of our friends the rest of the time. It was about an hour and a half away, but she slept all the way there and back….miracle! Lately...Lately...
And see that big girl sitting up in her Bumbo?! Hello neck control!Lately...
Every single Sunday, Eric decks out Charlotte in her Chiefs gear. She really is his best good luck charm 🙂Lately...
Let’s pretend this photo isn’t blurry. I have to say, Lilly kitty is pretty adorable with Charlotte. Sometimes she gets a little too close for comfort…and that’s when Charlotte grabs her tail. She may or may not put her tail in her mouth (gross, I know). She’s a cuddly kitty, so I think she wants to make sure we both know she loves us. Cats are weird.  Lately...
And last, but definitely not least- the cutest little turkey in the world! My Mom got her this outfit. Adorable!!! We spent the holiday at Eric’s Mom’s house, which was great! She got to meet most all of her family on that side. Lately... Lately... I promise not every post will be solely about the babe. We’ve been doing some fun Christmas decorating, home improvement projects, AND even have a big ol’ renovation in progress (a new porch!), so I’ll be sure to share that along the way too 🙂
