Fireside Five for Friday!

I’ve been wanting to do this link party for the longest time, so I’m super excited to finally be doing it today! I’m sure you know by now that I am kiiiind of obsessed with following some fabulous bloggers out there in the blogosphere. So when I found this link party, I just had to join in on the fun!

Five for Friday is just a random list of 5 things I’m loving this week. Enjoy!

Tuesday evening was one of the most exciting nights of my pregnancy so far! We got our crib in the mail and set that sucker up. We officially have ourselves a nursery! The anticipation was killing me. My Mom and Dad were kind enough to buy us our crib and we are so grateful. It’s exactly what I had pictured for the nursery 🙂 Of course, having a super handy hubby makes setting up a crib a cinch. I helped a bit to hold things here and there, but he had it out and put together in no time flat! I sat in the rocking chair admiring his work. I keep walking in the nursery, dreaming of when our little one will be sleeping soundly (knock on wood) in that beautiful crib. Those moments will be here before we know it! More updates on the nursery soon!

We went to a wedding over the weekend and had a great time. We just love wedding season. And now that most of our friends are hitched, we’re not attending as many as we’re used to in the past. This was a fun way to spend a Saturday with some of Eric’s (and now my) closest friends. You know the company is great when you can stand going to an open-bar wedding without having one alcoholic beverage 🙂 Wedding Photo

This weekend is, to me, one of the most exciting weekends of the summer- the Smoky Hill River Festival! There’s something about a hometown tradition that just makes me happy. We’ve been going to the “fest” (as us Salinan’s call it) since I can remember. There’s something EXTRA special about it this year, in that it’s the last year before Eric and I will be introducing our little munchkin to the fest! I sure do look forward to laying out the blanket next year and watching our 10 month old hang out listening to music with us.

This picture is super blurry, but you get the idea. Last night was our first childbirth class!! It was actually a lot of fun and we’re taking it with a couple friend of ours who is also pregnant! We left feeling a little more prepared, which is always a good thing in my book 🙂 This is a 4 week class, and then we’re signed up for 2 others. Yeaaa, I told you we like to be prepared.

This is my inspiration for our stairway going down to the basement. Don’t you just love it?? I’m in the process of matting some photos into 8 frames that I got at the Dollar Tree. Cheapies but perfect for this project. I’m hoping my version will turn out as classy as this one!! More on that later 🙂

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
