The Great Bedroom Reveal

We had a great 4th of July holiday! Friends came over for a BBQ, yard games and firework launching. We hope you had a great day as well!

This post has been a long time coming. I painted our room light gray back in March. It was one of those things that I had dreamt of doing since we bought the house but wasn’t very high on the priority list. I am very pleased with how it turned out! However, I had a picture in my mind of how it would look when it was “done”…and it didn’t get there until last weekend!
I wanted a rustic shelf above the bed and Eric made an amazing one for me last week. If you’re digging the shelf too and think it’ll make your room come together, you can order one from us! He’ll do custom orders too- i.e. specific dimensions, colors, design. Leave a comment if you’re interested!

Of course any renovation of mine comes with some inspiration. I thought I’d share a few bedrooms I found on Pinterest that really kicked off the painting/designing process. I knew that I wanted to the scheme to be gray/mustard yellow/taupe.
Check them out:

And here’s our final product!

Isn’t the shelf amazing? I’m in love with it!
This picture is a bit dark. I’ll have to snap a better one soon.

This rug is from IKEA. What a perfect fit. Here is our gallery wall. The frames are a mixture from IKEA and
Salvation Army (spray painted matte white)Our wedding song lyricsThe “ME” and “YOU” are wooden letters from Hobby Lobby.
I spray painted those matte white as well.We feel like it’s so much more airy and peaceful than the green from before….although I should say that Eric was sad to part with his favorite color on the walls. Lilly likes it too 🙂

Here’s the bedroom before:

Going from dark green to light gray took more than a couple of coats….
I used paint with primer, which helped, but still required a lot of painting, drying, and re-painting. It was all worth it!

Leave a comment with your contact information below if you’d like to inquire about ordering your very own shelf!

Hi! I found you thru pinterest.
I love your bedroom ideas. The shelf is really cute. I am wondering where you got the subway art?
    Thanks

Hi Katie! Thanks for following us! I’m glad you’ve found some inspiration here. The subway art is from Etsy- by MyPoshDesigns: http://www.etsy.com/listing/82205531/you-are-my-sunshine-subway-art-digital. She has that print in several different color choices too.
